How the other characters either hurt him or treated him like shit, many times, because of things outside of his control. “I always wanted my friends to call me Gerry.” How Jon burned Gerry’s page even though it would harm him (through the eye’s hatred of lost knowledge, and through the anger of the hunters) because he believed Gerry was a person and deserved better. “Just rest.” How they were both kind and did their best to help people despite it all. How they were manipulated into terrible situations because of it. They would have been such good friends. Fuck, maybe if Jon had Gerry to remind him that he is not a monster some marks could’ve been avoided…maybe they could’ve had a softer epilogue.
